Taggy Tuesday: #awesomebloggeraward

5:30 PM

Hey everyone!

Due to my procrastination (what, you think that during this pandemic that I'll be productive?) I've got a double tag coming at you guys today!

It is two copies of the same tag: the #awesomebloggeraward. I'll be tackling Sarah @ Pen of a Ready Writer's version first. You can view her original answers HERE

1. At what level of exhaustion are you capable of functioning at before you have to give up?

Since I'm so used to pushing through exhaustion, I either have to hurt myself or be so brain-fried that I say something completely non-sensical.

2. Least favorite soundtrack?

Umm....wasn't impressed with Thor: Ragnarok's when I listened to it on Spotify. So I guess that one, cause I don't remember any others.

3. Non-fiction book that's helped you?

How to Find Your Soulmate Without Losing Your Soul by Jason and Crystalina Evert

Definitely kept me from losing my mind as I wait patiently for Prince Charming to come around. Definitely deserves a re-read, now that I think about it.

4. Character death you're still not over?

*sniff*

5. Your favorite productivity tip?

Have some music or a podcast going when you're doing tedious things *cough folding Mt. Laundry cough*. It makes things go so much better.

6. Weirdest book you've ever read?

The Story of Kullervo

I could NOT for the life of me figure this book out. At all. Couldn't read it. Couldn't understand it. It was so all over the place that it was just....awful.

7. Which WIP is closest to your heart?

The Epics of Verden, specifically The White Rose right now. I love it so much that I'm now developing several companion stories.

8. A song that powers you up?

This is one that my brother recommended me recently and it really pumps me up:

(sorry not sorry to any of liberals out there)

Don't Tread on Me - Granger Smith and Earl Dibbles Jr.

9. Which breed of dog do you think looks cutest as a puppy?

Golden retriever :)

10. What was your first ever DNF?

Uhh, I honestly don't remember? I had this thing when I would finish a book no matter how bad it was to see if it would redeem itself, but it got to the point in my adult life that I couldn't do that.

I think my first public DNF was a book called Twisted, and it was a Rumpelstiltskin retelling.

Thank you so much Sarah!

And now, we move on to Nicole Dust's questions! You can view her original answers HERE

1. What’s your preferred method of planning (bullet journaling, Google Calendar, etc.)?

It's called a Command Central Whiteboard

That's how it looks currently, but I often change it up depending on how I'm feeling and what I need. There is something really satisfying about erasing stuff....

2. Favorite type of chocolate?

DARK
(fight me Lia)

3. What’s a trope that’s very overused, but you still like? (Your guilty pleasure, if you will.)

Umm, kickbutt female, I suppose? Not that I like kickbutt females in real life (I've known way too many) but I like fictional ones??

4. If you won $10,000, what's the first thing you would spend it on?

MY STUDENT LOANS
the faster those monsters get out of my life, the better

5. Who's your favorite YouTuber to watch?

Umm, I think it would have to be Lawrence Brown @ Lost in the Pond. He's one of the few that I will watch just for the sake of watching him. His Brit humor may or may not have something to do with it....

6. Least favorite emoji?

The one that people mistake for chocolate ice cream. Need I say more?
Or the eggplant one, for reasons I shall not disclose.

7. Who was your first fictional crush?

Jim Craig from "Man from Snowy River"

This guy goes back from when I was 6. SIX, PEOPLE.
I think I have a problem....

8. What’s your MBTI personality type, and do you think it fits you?

I keep getting INFJ for mine, and I absolutely agree that it fits me to a T. Scary how well it fits, actually.

9. Noodles or rice?

NOODLES.
Sorry, rice and I have a very contentious relationship.

10. What is your opinion of the rating system of Goodreads?

If you're asking if there needs to be half-stars....YES, THERE NEEDS TO BE HALF STARS.
Also I would love it if there was some reactions that we could put on it, like what they do for Facebook.

And that ends the tags! I have three more tags in my stack left, and so I'd better get cracking!

Scribbingly yours,

Catherine

  2. This is such a fun tag! And I totally agree--listening to audiobooks or podcasts while doing not-so-fun chores is the best way to make them go faster.

  3. So glad there will be more stories to go with The White Rose... :D

Retriever puppies are the most adorable things ever. My dog is a lab/golden mix and we have never had a problem finding homes for her babies, they go like hot cakes. :)

  4. Listening to audiobooks/podcasts/epic music while being productive is the best! My family and I like to do it together during our family clean-up time.

Also, I am not a dog person, but THAT PUPPY might change my mind. :)

(And, hi, yes, I'm new! I've been reading your blog for awhile, and just started my own, so I feel like I can comment. :D)

    1. We usually do something peppy--Lindsey Sterling has been a go-to in the last couple of weeks, but Straight No Chaser or Pitch Perfect is played a lot, too. A capella is big in our house :D. We don't listen to podcasts as often together, but in terms of audiobooks, my siblings and I have been listening to The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner.

If I was to get a dog (when I move out, because my parents are not dog people either), I would probably either get a golden or a German Shepherd.

      Thank you!
