COVER REVEAL: Ships, Secrets and Survivors by Sarah Rodecker and Helena George!

6:16 PM

Do excuse me for using an Insta photo for my title graphic....needs must.

Greetings from the cave!

Tis true. I am very late. It was one of those deals where I saw everyone else's posts go up and say to myself....

Oh yeah, I probably should go do that....

Then I got distracted...by the necessary rearranging of my sewing supplies, my jewelry box and my state quarter collection.

Sounds trivial no? But I assure you it's true.

When I went down south, my grandmother gifted me with a whole bag full of sewing stuff. Trims, lace, blanket binding, pins, the works. The tin that I had previously all of my laces and trims was suddenly requisitioned for all the hardware (hooks and eyes, grommots, that sort of thing) and a pretzel tub was necessary to hold all the other stuff. Try stuffing that into a sewing cabinet. And I thought I was finished with real-life Jenga Tetris.

The same grandmother also gifted me a LOT of jewelry she used to wear. Necklaces, a ring or two, and earrings. Quadrupled my jewelry stash. So much so, that all the jewelry boxes I had are now being used for jewelry. Still have to find a home for the foreign money collection, by the way.

The state quarters had to be redone because I was going to add in the four new ones in my tips last night...and discovered that half of collection got unstuck from the paper I used to keep them on. So, had to redo that.

And then orthodonist appointment had to be kept, and then dinner had to be prepped...

BUT YOU ARE NOT HERE TO HEAR MY EXCUSES OR TO SYMPTATHIZE WITH MY OCD WOES.

YOU ARE HERE TO SEE THE GORGEOUS COVER.

So, let us get rolling, shall we.....

....

An assassin trainee fleeing his profession.

A princess risking her reputation.

A talking ship with a mad captain.

Ravin should be dead. No one forsakes the assassin profession and lives. Attempting to evade capture and certain death, Ravin hides on a ship as part of the crew. Then his name is announced on Selection Day for the annual Scaera Dumeda, despite him never taking the entry test, declaring to the entire world—and the assassins hunting him for revenge—that he is alive.

Princess Adima Radi Kashinda dreams of more than someday ruling Antovan. She desires to make a true difference for her people. When her name is called on Selection Day, she throws away her title, despite the uncertain future ahead. This may be the opportunity she hoped for.

When some of the other selectees are murdered, Ravin and Adi are among the suspects. With the help of Ravin’s captain and crew, they sail away to hunt down the killer and clear their names. Can they catch the murderer when he always seems to be at least one step ahead?

Sarah Rodecker and Helena George have done countless crazy things together since they first met in 2005. One such thing was write Ships, Secrets, and Survivors on a dare. It went so well, they decided to expand it into a series and publish it together.

You can follow Sarah at her blog HERE, and Helena at her blog HERE.

(though, has anyone else had a very unhealthy curiosity as to why Julian Daventry is publishing under this name and not the snappy-cool pen name she uses on her blog? Cause I must admit that I do.....)

Okay, moving on to the good stuff now.....

Isn't it gorgeous???

I must admit, out of all of Megan Mcollough's covers, this is my absolute favorite. I think she's going to be a really great resource for us budding indie authors :).

You can view Megan's website HERE. BTW, those who have been in the blogging circle for quite a long while, will remember her better as Alea Harper, who used to blog over HERE

...

So now, how long until we get this stunning book into our hands?

AHHHH! So excited! Only a month away!!

Anyways, go share around this cover to support these lovely ladies. I know they've worked hard to put this masterpiece out there :)

And be sure to keep an eye on both their blogs to get info on ARCs and blog tour information!

Scribbingly yours,

Catherine

  1. (Um....mostly because I feel like Julian is more of a male name? I dunno...mostly going by my real name for the book since it's easier to "reveal" my real name to blogging peeps then have to explain to all my real life friends about this blogging name I have...I dunno. Tons of reasons, I guess.)

But thanks so much for taking part of the cover reveal! It's been so amazing to take this next step towards publishing and get to see people fangirl over the covers and characters! <3
