Musing on September, Hailing October (2021)

Greetings and salutations! 

Well, the leaves are changing already and I'm getting into the hot tea and sweaters. And I am so ready for it!! Apples, pumpkins, all the soup, all the yummy things! 

But I suppose I should give summer one last hoorah before I officially welcome fall...


- I read a review copy of Staying Here by Lena Claire Cook (formally known as Lena Donellan), and OH BOY what a tearjerker! A full review will be on the blog...one of these days. 

- While on my trip to Ohio, I took the opportunity to read two books by my blogging circle: United We Fall by Brooke Riley and Sins, Sons and Siren Songs by Sarah Rodecker and Helena George! I loved both of them very much and hopefully, I will review them soon! 

- Lia also gave me a couple of books while I was out there: The Reckoning by Beverly Lewis and the Rats of Nimh! I haven't read the first one, but I'm glad to have the second :). 


- I've been continuing my streaming of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman on Prime (which I think I started last month, if I remember correctly?). I'm almost finished with Season 2! 




- Editing on TWR has been chugging along! Last month, I was hovering around 13k. This month, I finish out with 19k! I'm just now right before the Games begin, but I need to cut out a little more because I'm STILL dealing with a really slow beginning. 



- Been continuing on the classical kick from last month, for better study environment. I've been exploring "happy", "light academia" styles...more on that in a second. 

- I discovered that my "aesthetic" playlists were in fact "mood" playlists. So I've changed them accordingly and have created some new ones - a playlist for Bardcore and one for Light Academia. As time goes on, I may put one for Cottagecore too. 

- I got *something* to make my own music with. I plan to post about this on my other blog, so stay tuned there! 

- I've been exploring more podcasts this month, especially feminine Catholic ones. One of my favorites has been Beloved and Blessed by Kimberly Hahn (wife to Scott Hahn!).  



- For Femininity from Scratch (formally known as Working by Candelight), there have been a lot of changes! A new name, a new header, and a slightly new focus as I start on a journey towards new ventures. Right now, I am still debating on whether to set a new blog or to set a new URL for the upcoming podcast. And in light of all of these changes, there is only one post this month: Femininity from Scratch A New Start. 

- For The Rebelling Muse, I wrote 2 posts: Tolkien Blog Party 2021, and My Scattered Thoughts on Eowyn and Femininity. I've got a couple of posts upcoming, especially one about my Renn Faire adventures! 


- Edit TWR

I've written 6000 words this month! It's a very worthy accomplishment, and I hope that I will edit at least that amount if not more this next month! 

- Engage with more bloggers

 I participated in Hamlette's Hobbit Blog Party, which was a lot of fun! It was really great interacting with my fellow bloggers again. Maybe once I get out of school, I can get back into blogging more.

    Ooh, Rats of NIMH was one of my favorites when I was little! :)

    So glad TWR editing is going well!

    Okay, what on earth is the difference between an aesthetic playlist and a mood playlist??
