The Avender Double Header: Two Tags from Green Gables! (+ BONUS TAG)

6:24 PM

Hello all,

I haven't done many tags recently, but it's not because I haven't been tagged, lol! Now that things are starting to settle down I can finally get round to these really cool tags that Grace and Katherine Avender have so graciously tagged me for! You can see their original tag post HERE

Mystery Blogger Tag

#1. If you had to teach a class on one thing, what would you teach?

Agriculture. I have considered actually doing this, but I'm stopped by the fact that I don't have the temperament to make it in public school.

#2. If you had to write an alternate ending to any book, which book would you choose, and how would you end it?

The Obituary Society by Jessica Randall

I would write it so that the main couple only stays friends and no romantic attachments happen.  Sorry guys, but I frown heavily on divorcee romances. Everything else about the book was actually pretty good, if not a little creepy.

#3. What is your favorite Bible verse right now?

I'm going to do a cop out and say...John 3:16. Because I legit have been delaying this tag because I couldn't answer it for months.

#4. What Gif/Meme describes you?

Basically.
Sourced from Pinterest

#5. What is the last book/movie/song that made you cry?

Umm, it would have to be Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. It was so beautiful.

Three Random Things About Me:

1. Even though I am technically right hand dominant, I wear my watch on my right wrist. Most people seem to consider that weird.
2. My favorite blanket is a Strawberry Shortcake fleece throw that I've had since I was about 10.
3. I'm attempting to make a braided rug...still can't figure out why it's curling into a bowl shape.

And that's a wrap!

Oh wait! No it's not! I nearly forgot, I got double tagged for the last one!

Mystery Blogger Tag #2

An old friend, Libby May from Geoturtle, tagged me for this one! You can view her original answers HERE.

Rules
  • Put the award logo/image on your blog
  • Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Mention the creator of the award and provide a link. ( It was created by Okoto Enigmas.)
  • Answer the 5 questions you were asked.
  • Tell your readers three things about yourself.
  • Nominate 10-20 people (being a rebel)
  • Notify your nominees by commenting on their blogs. (rebelling again).
  • Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice, with one weird or funny question (no thanks).
  • Share a link to your best post (why???)

If a friend asked you for a verse of encouragement, which is the first one that comes to mind?

"Believe that you can and you're halfway there." ~ Theodore Roosevelt.

I have this on a sign somewhere, it used to hang in my dorm room at school. Alas, it doesn't fit in my current Cottagecore, vintage bedroom, lol.

How do you keep your spirit up on a day to day basis?

Following Jeanne Robertson's advice of finding the humor of everyday situations.

Have you ever worked in retail? What was your worst part?

Not exactly. I worked in my grandmother's store a couple of times, and they did outdoor shows. I did have one bad experience in which I was handling an outdoor booth by myself and this little kid gave me one dollar for a four dollar flute and I didn't realize until too late. Whoops.

What is your favorite flower?

a summer annual flower called a Latana, usually called Ham and Eggs because of the colors.

Would you eat peanut butter off a spoon?

DUH YEAH. I do it all the time! How ELSE do you eat it?

Three random things:

1. My favorite period of fashion is the late Victorian/Edwardian period.
2. I really like dried flowers and leaves but usually have no way to keep them.
3. I really want to try a corset someday.

I'll skip tagging anyone for this tag, since this one has been around for a while now. But anyone is free to steal, if they so desire.

And that's a wrap (officially this time)!

Now it is your turn! What is one book that you wish you could rewrite the ending?

Scribbingly yours,

Catherine

  1. Eating Peanut Butter off the spoon is one of life's simple pleasures. Like, honestly, people who don't do it are missing out. But alternatives that I do is scooping it straight out of the jar with my finger (I don't do this often, but if I'm really hungry and can't go get a spoon, I make compromises).

    Thanks for the tag!

  2. Teaching a class on agriculture would be so fun! I think attending a class on agriculture taught by you would be fun as well. :)
Interesting about the watch--I also wear any bracelet-things on my right hand, but that's because I'm a leftie. So I suppose it's a little strange? But I can't really judge, since I do things like write with my left hand, but use sharp implements with my right. :)
Hmm...honestly, I don't know that there are any books I would rewrite the ending on...although there are books where I'd like to extend the ending so I can hear more (like LOTR! Why did his publishers make Tolkien leave off the last ending?).
