The Sunshine Blogger Tag

12:57 PM

I should not delay tags.

Otherwise, I will get quadruple tagged like I did for this one.

I know what y'all did. You went through the recent blogging feeds and discovered, "Oh look! Catherine hasn't done this tag yet! Let's tag her!"

I know because I've done it too.

And I really don't mind. It's really my own fault that I haven't gotten it out there.

Be forewarned, this is a hugely monstrous post.

Rules:

Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them.

List the rules and display an award logo on your blog post.

Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.

Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and notify them by commenting on any of their posts. (*coughs* WILL be breaking this one hehe)

Ask the nominees 11 new questions.

Ceci's Questions

You can view her original questions HERE.

1.) What has been the best book you've read this year (as of yet)?

According to my Goodreads, I believe that it is The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery. It was technically a re-read, because I didn't read it that well the first time. I'm so glad I did though - it's now one of my favorite LM Montgomery books.

2.) Favorite summer memory?

There are many, but I think the best summer memory was when I went to a leadership camp called YYLC. That whole week count as one memory, but there is one that sticks out. And it's an unusual one, especially if you know me.

Our camp members were divided into groupls and one evening all the groups performed something. My group did our own arrangement of "I've Got to Move It, Move It" from Madagascar 2, which featured rapping...in Polish, and one other foreign language.

(Oh did I mention that at least a quarter of those members of the camp from around the world? My apologies.)

I don't think I'll ever forget the excitement of those foreign camp members when the rapping portion started.

3.) Pineapple on Pizza: Aye or Nay?

Welllll....I'm kinda neutral. I don't mind Hawaiian pizza, but it's not my favorite either. I prefer cheese, green pepper, sausage, and onion.

4.) Your song on repeat?

"Prayed for You" by Matt Stell

Finally, finally, a country singer who sings about faith!!

5.) A moment in your life that has greatly impacted you?

There are several, but the one that sticks out the most is when I received my First Communion. That peace that I felt in my soul will stick into my memory forever.

6.) How did you get into blogging?

To put a long story short, my sis Lia dragged me in, with assistance from MK. More details are in the "About the Rebelling Muse" page.

7.) Who is someone that inspires you (real or fictional)?

Catherine of Aragon inspires me a lot. I really hope that she will be canonized one day.

8.) Something that always makes you smile?

Puppies. Puppies always will bring a smile on my face.

9.) Least favorite ice cream flavor?

Dessert-flavored (birthday cake, etc.). They are the worst....they're just too sicky sweet.

10.) That one song that you always start jamming to?

"She's With Me" by High Valley

11.) Favorite book crush?

Oh great. Now you're going to make me think?

I'll go with my stock answer of Gilbert Blythe, I suppose.

R.M. Archer's Questions

You can find her original answers HERE.

1. What song makes you smile?

Skippinish is a band that I've recently started to follow and the song "Walking on the Waves" linked above is the main reason why. Just take a listen and see what I mean.

2. What’s one of your biggest fears?

The fear of the failure. That's why my time with grad school rankled with me so badly.

3. Favorite autumn read?

Ahhh, well? I don't have that many "autumn reads".

But I suppose Jane Eyre would be the closest one.

4. Name one random thing that makes you happy.

When someone brushes, plays, or styles my hair.

5. Have you ever cried at a fictional character’s death?

Ummm, yes.

There is a certain character from a Catholic fiction book I've recommended often, whose death brought sobs and lots of tears.

6. What’s your favorite worship song?

I don't typically listen to "mainstream" worship songs, but I will listen to For King and Country, Lauren Daigle and Hannah Kerr occasionally.

I will instead listen to "real" worship music: Gregorian Chant

7. Flannel: yay or nay?

A solid YAY for flannel! I get cold very easily and flannel is super super comfortable. And, let's be honest, all the plaids are pretty and perfect for fall aesthetics.

8. What’s your favorite fall flavor?

Apple. I like pumpkin spice too, but I tend to go towards apples the most.

9. What’s your favorite type of humor?

Situational, puns and sarcasm are the three top types of humor I like. British humor tends to get me a lot too, I find.

10. What’s the most recent song you’ve discovered and loved?

Peter Hollen's cover of We Know the Way from Moana, which is on his latest Disney album.

11. What was the last book that made you cry (or almost cry, for you fellow heartless readers)?

Paint Everything Blue by Lena Donellan. Okay, it wasn't crying, it was bawling. I may not cry that often when reading, but this one...this one got me.

MEM's Questions

You can view her original questions HERE.

1. What is the most recent book that you finished?

Apparently I missed this one when I first published the tag, so lets' just go with...

I don't remember. It was probably a re-read.

2. If you could pick any planet in our solar system to visit (besides Earth of course XP), what would it be?

I've been fascinated by Venus the most, so maybe there!

3. What is your favorite mythical creature?

Centaur. Because of my love of horses, and riding said horses, mostly. And the Narnian centaurs are very majestic creatures.

4. Would you rather own the Batmobile or the Invisible Jet?

Only a DC fan would come up with that question. I had to look up what the Invisible Jet really was.

But now that I know that the Invisible Jet is Wonder Woman's vehicle, than that is the vehicle for me.

5. Pick a favorite literary quote.

"Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it?" ~ Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables.

6. Favorite type of tree?

Eastern Redbud is probably my favorite tree. They're a really early budding tree with purple flowers.

7. What is a book that you have heard tons about but haven’t read yet?

100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons. Had my Kindle not died, I probably would have gotten a copy but fate was against me there.

8. Yoda or Gandalf?

Oh now that's just mean. You going to make me choose between snarky ungrammatical sentences and otherworldy wisdom?

I suppose I will have to choose Gandalf. Because I was a LOTR fan before I was a Star Wars fan.

9. What is a favorite instrumental song of yours?

This part of the soundtrack plays during that big ball that Marianne finds Willoughby at. It's a really happy dance number that makes me want to dance too!

10. What is an incredibly weird superpower that you would love to have (i.e. the ability to stop people from talking, the power to create instant cupcakes, the ability to talk to frogs)?

The ability to clean things instantly. That pile of clutter that's been sitting there for months? Gone. That tumbling stack of craft supplies? Organized.

I live in a very cluttered house and I think it's starting to get to me a little.

11. Would you like to be able to balance grapes on your nose for an extended amount of time? (I’m curious, guys.)

Ummm, frankly no. Only because I want to pursue other abilities.

Grace's Questions

You can view her answers HERE

1. If you could design a room what would it be?

Well, this is interesting timing. I just finished doing this exact thing.

It is a bedroom, and it's got a very vintage-y feel to it. I'll link you to my other blog, Working by Candlelight, which has all the posts relating to this renovation.

2. What countries are represented in your family history?

My mother's family has Scotland, England, Wales, Mohawk (Native American), Germany, Dutch, Austria, Ireland, and France represented in it.

My father's family has Poland (Austrian and Russian), Russia, Austria, and Italy represented in it. There is also a strong possibility of Ukraine also being in there.

3. What is your favorite flower?

I like several different flowers: Latanas (which are pink and yellow, usually), plumerias, begonias, lillies, daylilies, daffodils, roses, snapdragons, crocuses, hyacinths, plum blossoms, sunflowers, columbines, orchids, hydrangeas...and oh my goodness I need to stop.

4. Have you ever listened to Adventures in Odyssey? If so, who is your favorite character?

No, but I have heard a lot of good things about it!

5. If you could remove a common trend in our society what would it be?

How about the trend of creating sub-par, violent and immoral entertainment? That seems to be a good one to remove, no?

6. If you could implement a common trend into our society what would it be?

There are a lot that I can think of, but I think I'm going to pair it with the answer above and say that a trend of family-friendly entertainment would be appreciated.

7. Would you rather be cast as a hero or villain?

Oh, I'd much rather be a hero to provide a good example for others. However, I would probably be cast as a villain. There is a hidden dark side in me, which would scare anyone, I think.

8. What is your greatest fear?

I'm claustrophic, so the idea of being trapped is probably my biggest physical fear. Otherwise it will be the fear of failure.

9. What is one thing you wish people knew about you?

As old-fashioned as I appear, I do have some modern sentiments. If I could take the good from the modern world and combine it with the good of the past, I would.

10. What is something you've discovered about yourself this year?

That, even though I am an introvert, I can indeed be successful at a job that requires a lot of peopling skills. That, and there is no shame in taking a blue-collar job in order to make ends meet.

11. Are you a Black and White person or more Grey?

If you are talking about morality, than definitely Black and White.

I'm being a rebel and not tagging anyone for this. Though if 11 people wish to steal, I give them leave. And now, I shall stop putting letter up and let my exhausted brain rest a bit.

Scribbingly yours,

Catherine
