[Closed] Nominations for Most Devoted Couple Silmarill
8:45 AMWestley and Buttercup breathed in the forest air as they walked along.
"I'm excited to meet Catherine, I hear from Eowyn that she's a wonderful host." Buttercup smiled. "I hear too the reason she's excited to host is because she has a handsome rogue of her own now calling upon her."
"Does she? Well, let us hope there won't be any Prince Humperdinck in their lives to cause them ills." Westley laughed.
They reached the address that Inigo had given them only to find the place had an air of confusion and disarray. And.... emptiness.
"Do you suppose she's home?" Buttercup leaned into Westley.
"Sure doesn't look like it..." He looked around.
Suddenly, he felt a bump on his head and a flash of movement. Looking down, he saw a large packet. Picking it up, he saw a note on top and read it aloud.
"Dear Westley and Buttercup,
Forgive me for not meeting you as promised this morning - my Rogue and I have met with some unexpected difficulties.
All you need to set up the nominations box is in this packet. Could you be dears and help me set them up? Thank you!"
Westley opened the packet and began to read:
~ Rules of the Silmaril Awards ~
- You may nominate as many characters as you wish, as long as there is no nepotism involved (i.e. author's nominating their own characters).
- You may also second as many characters nominated by others as you choose. The more “seconds” (and thirds, fourths, etc) a character receives, the more likely that character will move on to the Top 5 Candidate List from which the viewers will vote from. Should there be any dead heats, the host reserves the right to cast the tiebreaker vote.
- Nominations are allowed for fantasy book characters only! Movie characters don't count unless they have a book twin. Any disputes will be forwarded to the Council of Elrond.
- The Silmaril Awards are “lifetime” awards. To paraphrase Aslan, "once an Epic Heroine, always an Epic Heroine". Characters who have already won a Silmaril in previous years are not eligible to win the same award again (though they may win other categories.)
