Musing on October, Hailing November (2021)
12:27 AMGreetings from the cave! (And a happy All Saints Day!)
This was one year that I can echo Anne Shirley and say that "I am glad that there are Octobers". With the change in season came a change in the state of mind. Finally, things are starting to move - and in many ways, good ones.
Shall we see what October brought me?
- I recently bought a short biography of Jenny Wade, with the intention of using it as source material for my upcoming screenplay The Wade Girl.
- I made it to Season 4 of Dr. Quinn before I finally had to swear it off. Some of the content that I brushed off in earlier seasons (i.e. lust, high emotions, etc) was getting a little much for me to handle, but when one of my favorite characters died, I had enough!
- I have been finding more TV episodes on YouTube, including some popular shows like George to the Rescue (a home-improvement show on NBC).
- TWR is still chugging along! I am now up to 22382 words!
- I did some research into The Wade Girl via a small biography of Jenny Wade by Cindy Small. And wow, was it extremely helpful. And it makes me really excited for me to adapt this story for the big screen!
- NaNoWriMo is officially off the table for me this year. I have too much schoolwork to do (i.e. I have to finish a seminar paper).
- I created three new playlists on my Spotify. One that focused on my BFF and a second that was meant to listen to at work. This later is probably going to be absorbed into my pop music playlist, because I don't forsee me staying at my current job beyond this year. There is also a small playlist that I started to collect recordings for pieces that I had played in Collegium.
For Femininity from Scratch, I wrote one post: A Dream Come True. I also fixed the header - purple instead of pink, and actual flowers rather than the black floral pattern. Last month, I floated the idea to change the URL of the blog. I decided against actually changing the URL itself (which was guaranteed to cause a myriad of broken links). I decided to go for a simpler option...which I will reveal on the 5th blogoversary, which is coming next month!
For The Rebelling Muse, I wrote one post: Adventures at the Ohio Renaissance Festival! In the future, I hope to give a writing update about TWR, and maybe I can revisit some of those old tags I have laying around...
1. Edit TWR
I'm currently on Chapter 12, which is the start of the real action! My current word count is about 23000 words, which is great progress!
And now, I'd love to hear from you! How was your October?
Scribbingly yours,
Catherine

Ooh, ooh! I actually have a TV series recommendation for you, courtesy of my parents: Tudor Monastery Farm! I haven't seen any of it, but I know the premise--historians turn the clock back and try to live/do stuff like the Tudors (which sounds boring, but I am assured that it is Not Boring)--and my parents, are really enjoying it, and since it seemed like something you might like, I thought I'd tentatively recommend it even though I can't recommend it *personally*...
ReplyDeleteGood work on TWR!
Have a blessed November, Catherine! Happy Feast of All Saints! :)
