Announcing My April 2020 Camp NaNo Project!
12:54 PMHello all!
Today is a super exciting day because I get to reveal which one of the Sleeping Twins is going to get the chance to grow up!!
*crickets*
I should explain.
The nickname Sleeping Twins is a reference to a tag post I did several months ago. They refer to two "baby" WIPs that have been in existence since 2017; "Shattered Chandelier" and "Rose of Culmore". Both of these currently live on Wattpad, and only two chapters exist for both.
I mentioned that I had wanted to tackle one of these babies during Camp NaNo, and I'm glad that I decided to do that. TWR has been a huge headache this entire year, and I need something that will be less stressful.
Taking popular opinion into consideration, I weighed the two of them against each other.
And I have decided to work on.....

I chose this particular project for several reasons. One, it's much more lighthearted than Rose - she's a very angsty child and I have no patience for angst right now. Two, this story is actually more developed and won't require as much prep. And third...there is a lot more room to play with a fanfiction than a strict historical retelling would be.
I have decided on a small goal this month - only 20k. The other unusual mark of this WIP is that it will be published on Wattpad all throughout Camp - so you will get live updates hot off the press! That's right, no secretive word counts, no waiting until betaing, you will see it in it's raw glory. Since I don't intend for this story to go further than Wattpad (and that includes it's upcoming sequels...), it works out great :).
In other NaNo-related news, I have started two new writing groups on the new NaNoWriMo site. This replaces the old "cabins" that were on the Camp NaNo site - and the nice thing is that we can be in multiple!
So, there is a Rebellious Writing group, and then I created one called The Siena Society. It's a group for female Catholic young adults, who have met through blogging. I still have several spots available so if you are interested, feel me to message me your NaNo ID and I'll send you an invite!
Tune in at the beginning of April for avatars. synopsis and other prepping stuff :)
Scribbingly yours,
Catherine
