Musing on July, Hailing August
4:32 PM
Greetings from the Cave!
It's been a quiet month over here in the cave...literally everything has been on the outside. I blame the too nice weather and the summer course I took for that.
But there has been a little bit of progress here and there, shall we take a look?
- I finished Kidnapped and Caitrona by Robert Louis Stevensons. I really enjoyed both of these books, even if the plots were a wee bit confusing at times.
I had a slight obsession with SunWorld Pictures for a time in July. Yes, I know, they're technically B-rated movies, but these were actually pretty good B-rated movies.
The movies I watched were:
- Civil Love
- Prescription for Love
- An Hour Behind
- Not Your Cinderella
- Scents and Sensibility
Other movies that I watched this month include the indie film Beauty (which is one of the best Beauty and the Beast retellings I've seen in a long time)
This month, the writing has been very scattered, at least in the fiction department. For TWR, I've only written 300 words. For my secret project, I've written even less than that. But considering the amount of essays that I've written recently, it is little wonder that I have no words left.
- I made my third aesthetic/mood playlist, which is called "In the Rain". It's more of a sad/bittersweet tone to it. Eventually, my goal is to put all the instrumental and fantasy music into these aesthetic/mood playlists to aid in writing.
For Working by Candlelight, I wrote no posts.
For The Rebelling Muse, I wrote no posts.
For the History Cat, I wrote no posts.
I think I'm just going to ditch the plan and just go back to spontaneous posts for a while. Maybe that will get the creative juices flowing again. Cause clearly this isn't working.
I worked on the following goals:
4. Further developing Instagram page
I've decided to make a second Instagram page, under my real name. This will be the place for all my personal posts, which will allow my blog Instagram to be a little more professional. Already, the bios have been changed, and I hope to be a little more consistent in my posting there in the near future!
Scribbingly yours,
Catherine
